His latest "voodoo" album, N'Awlinz Dis Dat or D'udda, a tribute to the drummers of New Orleans, features linear notes expounding on the various "bippin'" "mo" and "dere it t-i-is" talent of well-known players offering their takes on things "down yonder." It's a generally pleasing album held together by a huge and diverse collection of guests, but it suffers the inconsistency almost inevitable with so many different performers. C’e da ricordare che le spalle di questo album sono irrobustite da un’armatura possente, leggi l’esperienza della One Drop Band (tra cui Ludus Pinsky, IrieV, Jahmento, corifei delle produzioni reggae italiche) e dello storico produttore dei Rolling Stones (mi…) Marshall Chess.

Ciò non toglie che pure qui si casca in pozzanghere limacciose. Tra quelle pizzicate ne scelgo una: la tragicomica “Pizza&Mandolino”, para-rap bubble gum, metriche da schiaffi (mc DropAflo), campioni macilenti e clichè. RECENSIONE COMPLETA
